A database and programming system is successfully established in this project for estimating the greenhouse-gas emissions from fishing boats. It is still necessary to strengthen the database and to improve the estimating programming system.
An amendment is made to the emission indices of greenhouse gases from fishing boats. The statistics of fishing-boat greenhouse-gas emissions is compiled for the years from 1990 to 2003 in this project. The inventorise of greenhouse-gas emissions from fishing boats are successfully set up for the years from 2004 to 2006. The greenhouse-gas emissions from fishing boats amounts 2,933 Gg in 1990, which acounts for 2.66% of total nation amount and 80.5% of sector amount of agriculture, forestry, and fishing. The greenhouse-gas emissions from fishing boats amounts 2,822 Gg in 2006, which is lower than the level of 2000 and acounts for only 1.09% of total nation amount. It is suggested to monitor the long-term variation of the amount of fishing fuel used per unit catch, which may be used as a basis for reducing greenhouse emissions from fishing boats. However, it should be only applied to fishing boats of single fishery. |
