This study aimed to investigate the seasonal changes of the primary production, chlorophyll a and nutrients surrounding Taiwan. The nutrients, including nitrate, phosphate and silicate changed with season. The nutrients, silicate was higher in Pon-Hoo. All the nutrients in summer were higher than other season’s. The primary productions had a high relationship with chlorophyll a. The surrounding water of Pan-Hoo had the highest primary production. The water surrounding taiwan, the primary production in Jan. 、May、July and Oct were 4.348、7.389、12.414 and 18.766 g tonC/km2/day, respectively. The primary production in Northeast area, East area, Southwest, Penghu islands and northwest area were averaged 0.038、0.040、0.023、0.025 and 0.02 g C/m3/day in winter, respectively. Following the above area, the primary production averaged 0.099、0.057、0.113、0.094及0.106 g C/m3/day in spring; 0.017、0.009、0.019、0.055 and 0.043 g C/m3/day in summer; 0.136、0.136、0.112、0.135 and 0.114 g C/m3/day at autumn, respectively. Furthermore, following above area, the chl a averaged 0.357、0.470、0.263、0.222 and 0.166 mg/m3 in winter, 0.670、0.530、1.017、0.623 and 0.558 mg/m3 at spring, 0.130、0.356、0.417、0.610及0.177 mg/m3 in summer and 0.342、0.162、0.177、0.230及0.398 mg/m3 at autumn , respectively. |
