1. "The Economics Impacts of the Structural Change of China Fishery Industry on the Cross-Strait Seafood Industry and its Corresponding Strategiesic" :
?????The rise of fishery in the Mainland China has made her a major country of fishery production and consumption. China is also eager to expand her international market. The export markets have been concentrated, which are countries like Japan, Korea, USA, Europe and Hong Kong. The export to these countries constitutes more than 90 percent of productions in both quantity and gross. It runs the parallel, yet competitive, relationship between Taiwan and China in the export of fishery products.? Taiwan is rather disadvantaged in both natural/human resources and production cost. With no distinct market division in fishery products, Taiwan is losing its competitiveness.?
We aim to discuss the impact on cross-strait economic trades, the marketing network of fishery products in Mainland China, production structure and cross-strait competitive and reciprocal relationships in fishery industry.?? We investigate the production structure, type, production cost and major fidhery products sales networks and locations in Mainland China and appraise the impact to Taiwan's fishery industry and make suggestion s for correcponding strategies.

?????Taiwan and China became member of the World Trade Organization (WTO) in 2002. Under the framework of trade relations between the cross Taiwan Strait gradually moving toward a free and open.? Fisheries and aquatic products in China, one of the important export products in 2002, exports of aquatic products in China as much as 4.69 billion U.S. dollars, for the first time in Thailand, ranking first in the world. It is worth noting that the volume of trade of aquatic products in China to 9.3 billion U.S. dollars in 2007. Recently, China to strengthen economic and trade with Taiwan to build the policy of “the Economic Zone on the West Coast of the Taiwan Strait” (hereafter EZWCTS) . The EZWCTS in the region is mainly in Fujian, in the face of Taiwan and neighboring Hong Kong and Macao, North for the Yangtze River Delta, the south, the Pearl River Delta, the west and inland. It Is characterized by its own unique advantages and radiation gathering economic region. Furthermore, the EZWCTS is similar climatic conditions.? Firstly, the study explored situations and problems in the EZWCTS on fisheries, aquaculture, processing, and marketing. Secondly, by clustering analysis on the bilateral trade intensity, this paper investigates the evolution of trading bloc(s) in the fisheries products for the last three decades. Finally, planning and testing of the EZWCTS fisheries trade blocs. The major findings are as follows: (1).Using cluster analysis showed that Taiwan and China belong to the trade blocs, but not highly interdependent. (2).Does nationality by external forces contributed to the so-called fishery trade circle? If through an external policy to promote fish trade circle, then we need to overcome a number of implementation difficulties. Including the current implementation of small-volume trade, ECFA, even the big three links. (3). From the production of fishery, Taiwan obviously can not compete with the Chinese aquatic products. May have to cope with cross-strait economic cooperation-related policies (such as, ECFA) to develop in order to enable the seafood trade circles have specific benefits. |
