(1) Within the overlapping Exclusive Economic Zone between Taiwan and Japan, in areas where operations of fishing vessels are intense, vessels' positions will be automatically detected and immediately transmitted by fax to the Coast Guard Administration, Executive Yuan, Maritime Patrol Directorate General of the Coast Guard Administration and the Duty Command Center the Coast Guard Administration, asking them to reinforce there patrol cruising, protect the safety of the fishing vessels in operation. (2) Computer servers will be adequately expanded to accommodate the increased number of fishing vessels under monitoring, as well as the increasing volume and speed of the processing of data. The numbers of fishing vessels under monitoring will be expected to reach 1,000 units and over. It is required in the processing and analysis of vessel position data, the existing processing speed can be maintained, as a minimum standard. (3) In response to the policy of required of installation of Automatic Location Communicators by coastal fishing vessels in future, global electronic charts will be purchased and/or designed to accommodate the demand of such upgrading of function. |
