The main purpose of this study was to investigate the abundance of fish, macroalgae, and coral barnacle, and fishery resource in Green Island (Chai Kou and Shi Long) and Lanyu (Kai Yuen Gang and Yu Lu Yen) in Taiwan. Although fish species abundance was higher in the subtidal regions and macroalgal abundance was lower, fishery resource was exhausted in Green Island along with heavy catches of dive fishing. It reflects high impacts of human activities to ecosystem in Green Island and Lan-yu Island in the recent years. |
