The grouper hatchery industry has been become an important aquaculture in Taiwan. The living organisms, rotifer, Artemia, and copepoda are used as suitable foods for larval groupers. However, these living organisms usually carry with a large amount of bacteria and virus which cause high mortality of groupers. The only way to overcome the infection by pathogen is using artificial diets to replace living organisms. In this study, we try to develop the microparticulate artificial diets for larval groupers. The first thing is to establish a suitable dietary formular for larval groupers. Then, we test this formular whether it is fitted for larval grouper or not. We test the leaching rate, and floating rate of artificial diets. And we feed larval groupers with this microparticulate diet and investigate the survival and growth rate of larval groupers. By this microparticulate diet, we hope to solve the high mortality problem of larval groupers. |
