Oil price increases yearly, and operation costs of shipping boats rise dramatically. It is imperatively how to economize energy for main and auxiliary engines in the machine room for deep ocean shipping boats. There is more electrical power used in operating the cooling pumps of diesel engines for deep ocean shipping boats than for other shipping boats. In addition, the electrical power consumption increase because the electricity does not be controlled. Therefore, this research project is to conduct an economized energy experiment on a diesel engine, and to process the control of pump speed under different engine speeds and loads. The electrical power consumption and the evaluation for the feasibility applied to deep ocean shipping boats are investigated.The result of evaluating the economized fifteen-year cost shows that the application of the system to deep ocean shipping boats is highly feasible. |
