The oil price is rising and operating cost increasing in recent years, and how to maintain engine parts and to prolong their life, and to reduce fuel consumption are the concerns of the present large fishing boats. Especially general fishing boats prolong their equipment lifespan by focusing on maintenance and repair. They have neglected the carbon deposits in engine parts caused by the engine operation for fishing boats, which then results in engine exhaustion, higher fuel consumption as well as shorter engine lifespan.
The primary objective of this project is to develop a carbon deposit cleaning system, carry out performance experiments and analysis with and without using the system, and evaluate the savings of fuel and operating cost with using the system. The results showe that blending systems can save fuel and installation costs, but increase A fishing boat fuel consumption for the generator to supply electricity to the heater for B fishing boat fuel so as to reduce operating costs quite few. Mixing and shifting two fuels will reduce the equipment component of the depletion period in advance and increase the human number on the maintenance, maintenance work hours, and cost. After cleaning the engine in operation, carbon deposit can reduce brake specific fuel consumption but increase cylinder pressure, and then CO2 and NOx emissions slightly increase, while exhaust emissions CO, HC and Smoke concentrations decrease. The result of assesing the cost analysis shows that carbon deposit cleaning system used in ocean fishing boats engine also has a high feasibility. |
