Non-submergible aquaculture cage is a traditional cage system in Penghu bay, Taiwan. In the past, the installation of cage system is based on the empirical experience of local fish farmers. When a severe typhoon attacks, the cage systems are often suffer serious damage due to lacking of an appropriate engineering design. This project is to set up a standard cage system to overcome the cage volume deformation and cage drift away problems. The other point of this study is to improve the buoy quality. Currently the Styrofoam float is widely used in the Bay due to its economical feature. Styrofoam floats have been often discarded randomly in the sea and thus are regarded as a source of pollution to the environment. Therefore, we suggest using HDPE buoy to replace styrofoam float to mitigate the environmental impact. The purpose of this project is to deploy a set of non-submergible case with HDPE buoy in Penghu bay according to our previous researches. After?verifying the numerical? model with?the in-situ measurements of sea states and mooring tension, a?whole set of ?technique transfer processing will be further arrangement. |
