The purpose of this study is analyze for the Set-net and Saury & Squid fishing industry value chain, including production, fish-processing, retail and services, and other support activities at different stages. Secondly, the calculation Set-net and Saury & Squid fishing contribution of fisheries and related industries to the GDP, the present study by the industry association angle to Leontief input-output (Input-Output) model to calculate 2009-2013 Set-net and Saury & Squid fishing in primary value-added products and related departments created. The key findings and implications are as follows: The GDP created by the set-net fishery and related industries is from NT$ 947 million to NT$ 1,080 million during 2009-2013. The delivery service sector contributes the biggest part in the GDP. The primary sector and fishing input follows, which rank in the second and third, respectively. Overall, compeitition ability of set-net fishery is strong, but the human resource management is weak. There are several development strategies including improvement of humance resource management, establishment of information platform, shortening of the production and marketing via difference industries alliance. The GDP created by the Torch Light Net Saury fishery and related industries is from NT$ 7 billion to NT$ 11.4 billions during 2009-2013. The delivery service sector contributes the biggest part in the GDP. The primary sector and fishing input follows, which rank in the second and third, respectively. On the other hand, the GDP created by the Squid Jigging fishery and related industries is from NT$ 6.4 billion to NT$ 10.1 billions during 2009-2013. The delivery service sector contributes the biggest part in the GDP. The primary sector and fishing input follows, which rank in the second and third, respectively. Overall, each element of value chain of Torch Light Net Saury fishery and Squid Jigging fishery has strong competition advantage, but the two fishery face the challenges of human resource and fishing vessel access. Therefore, it is important to cultivate technological huame resource and to improve aquatic product marketing. |
