Mackerel purse seine fishery is one of the most important coastal fishery in Taiwan. The history of it is over 30 years. In this study a new power saving two-vessel fishing mode is studied to substitute for the traditional multi-vessel fishing mode for mackerel purse seine fishery. First of all the traditional purse seine for mackerel fishing mode in Taiwan and the practical situations in Japan will be studied for reference, and then the fishing equipments, operation mode and the operation cost of the new fishing mode are to be researched, as well as the effects on the catch of fish. |
