The present study sampled at I-Lan,Ch-Lin,Guan-Du,Lu-Karg and Ping-Tong on April, 2006. The dominant bacteria isolated from living-feed ( red worm ) were Aeromonas hydrophila, Aeromonas spp, Enterobacteriaceae,Citrobacter spp and Flavobacterium spp.,followed by Pseudomonas spp,Edwardsiella tarda and Vibrio spp. The dominant bacteria isolated from glass eels were Aeromonas hydrophila, Aeromonas spp,Enterobacteriaceae,Citrobacter spp and Edwardsiella tarda. The dominant bacteria isolated from pond water were Aeromonas spp.,Enterobacteriaceae,Citrobacter spp, Flavobacterium spp and Pseudomonas spp.The wild caught glass eels were predominantly fed with red worms and may therefore infected by pathogenic bacteria via such a food chain. The efficacy of using Ozone 0.15ppm, ClO2 4ppm treated red worm for 30 mins and then fed glass eels could obtain better eating and survival rate. The addition of different enrichments with mixed eel meal and then fed glass eels obtained better survival rate at least 96%. The suwival rate were 95% after a lethal challenge (i.p. injection) with E. tarda . |
