After Japan announced its EEZ (Exclusive Economic Zone), lead to the disputes about fishing boats and are getting more and more serious in? overlapping EEZ of Taiwan and Japan. The fisheries in northeast of Taiwan are always the traditional fisheries for Taiwan. In order to realizes activity and resource exploitation in overlapping EEZ of Taiwan and Japan. This research takes the four fisheries to be the objects, such as? Torch light net fishery, Danish seine fishery, Tuna long line fishery, Pole and Lines Boots. To collective the economic and fishery boats activity data, and to make figure was drew by using GIS(Geographical Information System).
As the result shows that in 2008~2009 Oct., the Torch light net fishery main caught skipjack tuna and Uroteuthis (Photololigo) edulis. Danish seine fishery main caught Scomber australasicus and carangidae. Tuna long line fishery main caught Thunnus albacares and Thunnus orientalis. During April? to September in 2009, Pole and Lines Boots main caught Uroteuthis (Photololigo) edulis and Seriola dumerili.
The VDR data bank shows that the most Torch light net fishery and Danish seine fishery have managed fishing activity within borders. Those two fishery actived in the overlapping sea only 10% of total working time. The Tuna long line fishery and Pole and Lines Boots actived in the overlapping area only 11% and 9% of total working time, therefore, in spite of fishery production in overlapping are not much, but still can not be ignored. There are 1~2% fishery boats of the two fishery will over the borders, and it is very unsafe for fishing. |
