Since the price of petroleum of the whole world gets higher and higher recently, the cost of the employed fuel oil of fishing boats may be evidently increased. The purpose of this project is to reduce oil consumption and minimize pollution from engine of fishing boats using wind power generation system. This project proposes a wind power generation system to supply the required electricity for battery system in fishing boats. The wind power generation system can generate electricity when wind speed is higher on the sea, and it can also be used to charge battery when engine is not running. The advantages of the proposed wind power generation system can capture wind energy with no pollution, reduce energy consumption, and minimize environmental pollution. A world's first wind power generation system has been successfully installed on a fishing boat in Japan to supply the required energy of battery and to supply the required single-phase power source to an air conditioner in the boat through a DC-to-AC inverter. This project is to carry out the experimental tests of wind power generation system to effectively save oil consumption of engine on domestic fishing boats. |
