1. Fishing vessel owners can employ foreign crew members to serve as fishing and navigation and engineering crew officers
Foreign crew members employed by fishing vessel owners were originally only allowed to serve as ordinary crew members. To promote the policy of retaining foreign intermediate-level technical manpower, the Fisheries Agency has amended the law to allow fishing vessel owners to recommend foreign crew members to participate in the professional crew officer training for first level engineer, second level ship mate and second level engineer, and being employed as crew officer other than the captain.Read full article:

2.Aquafarmers urged to monitor water quality when winter comes
Aquafarmers should monitor water quality in their fish and shrimp ponds, as winter temperature swings could lead to disease outbreaks, the Fisheries Agency said. To help improve water quality, the agency also suggested that aquafarmers should change the water weekly or regularly add zeolite powder or probiotics.
