1.COA attempting to resolve delayed exports to China
Council of Agriculture Deputy Minister Chen Junne-jih held a news conference on December 8th to respond to rumors that the Chinese General Administration of Customs has banned the import of several kinds of seafood, including squid, Pacific saury, fourfinger threadfin from Taiwan. Chen said the COA is investigating the reasoning behind the delayed import approvals.2.Fisheries Agency welcomed the visit of Father Bruno Ciceri
Father Bruno Ciceri, the Director of the Stella Maris International at the Holy See’s Dicastery for Promoting “Integral Human Development Vatican”, met with Director-General Chang Chih-Sheng of Fisheries Agency on December 6th. He recognized Taiwan government’s efforts on improving fishers’ human rights, and he hopes that Taiwan continues the dialogue with related governments and international organizations.
