1. Taiwan promotes farm produce at Foodex Japan 2023
The Taiwan pavilion at Foodex Japan 2023, the 48th edition of the international food and beverage exhibition, opened on March7th at Tokyo Big Sight international exhibition center, showcasing a wide range of special agriculture and aquaculture products. Organized by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), the Taiwan pavilion brought together 136 exhibitors operating 132 booths. With an exhibition area of 1,584 square meters, it is the second largest national pavilion at the expo.
2.1 body found, 6 people missing after Taiwan fishing boat capsizes off Japan
Coastguard teams from Taiwan and Japan are searching for the crewmembers of a Taiwanese fishing boat that capsized off the coast on Japan on the weekend, and one body has been recovered, the Coast Guard Administration (CGA) said. Fishery Agency said they have enlisted the help of another Taiwan-registered fishing vessel in the same area to search for the six missing people. Meanwhile, the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in Japan has been asked to provide any necessary assistance and keep in contact with all the agencies involved in the rescue effort, according to Taiwan's foreign ministry.
