The Ministry of Agriculture announced that Taitung and Hualien farmers who suffered from loss due to the typhoon can apply for cash relief or low-interest loans at local district and township offices. Taitung County, where the storm made landfall on Sunday afternoon, was the hardest-hit area, racking up NT$318 million in damages to date, or around 67 percent of the total seen in Taiwan, the ministry said. - Egg prices to increase NT$3 per catty as schools boost demand:
