1.Taiwan's measures to improve the rights and benefits of migrant fishermen are affirmed by the Stella Maris
Taiwan was invited by the Holy See of Vatican City to attend the XXV World Congress of the Stella Maris and the Centenary Celebration, which was held in Glasgow, United Kingdom, from October 2 to 5, 2022. On behalf of Taiwan, the Fisheries Agency attended in this event and shared Taiwan’s latest policies and progress in improving the rights and benefits of migrant fishermen to the clergies and participants from 53 countries.

2.COA hosts International conference on smart agriculture
The Council of Agriculture hosted the International conference on smart agriculture from October 12nd to 13th. More than 300 experts from Taiwan, Japan, the Netherlands and Canada took part in the conference and discuss the topic about the latest trend in smart agriculture.3.
3.COA helping after weeds found in orchid exports
The Council of Agriculture declared that it would implement stricter plant quarantine at customs and has proposed corrective measures to vendors after the US returned Taiwanese exports of butterfly orchids, citing weeds found on their culture media. Besides, the council said it was in talks with the US and would come up with ways to manage the weed problem so Taiwan can continue selling to the US.
