1. Taiwanese Pork Debuts at a Famous Singapore Restaurant
Taiwanese pork is making its way to international markets, with great news continuously emerging. After years of effort, following the opening of the Philippine market to Taiwanese fresh pork in early 2023, Taiwan has once again achieved a significant milestone. To capitalize on this opportunity and introduce Taiwanese fresh pork and processed products to Singaporean consumers, Taiwan's Ministry of Agriculture, in collaboration with Singapore's renowned restaurant "House of Seafood," launched a promotional campaign from December 13th to 28th. The campaign features a Taiwanese pork-themed meal set, which includes classic Taiwanese dishes such as minced pork rice, sausages, and meatball soup, allowing Singaporean consumers to experience authentic Taiwanese flavors made from Taiwanese pork and further strengthen the brand image of Taiwanese pork in the Singaporean market.
2. Fisheries Agency responds to Greenpeace appeal : Promote legislation, strengthen investigation and international cooperation, protect the rights and interests of the crews
On December 12th , a press conference held by the Greenpeace Foundation requiring that the government should announce a timetable for the implementation of the Work in fishing Convention as soon as possible and initiate investigations into cases of violations. The Taiwan Fisheries Agency stated that the draft implementation Act of the Work in Fishing Convention had been announced on September 22nd, 2024, and comments from all sides have been received and will be handled in accordance with legal procedures. Furthermore, regarding the cases suspected of violations mentioned in the conference, the Agency will actively investigate the specific evidence and deal with them in accordance with the law, and will not allow the crew members’ rights and benefits to be violated.
