1. Council of Agriculture Launches Four Major Assistance Measures against Flood Period: Taiwan has in recent years experienced substantial change in temperature and rainfall patterns as a consequence of climate change. In order to ease the impact of disasters and crises on farmers during flood period, Council of Agriculture (COA) proposes four major measures: First, the amount of subsidy system will be enhanced more than 20%; and the weather condition will be adopted into the standards of subsidy system and shorten the examination process for subsidy implementation. Moreover, the latest positioning technology will be invoked for the need of disaster inspection. Finally, the business of farm product storage and warehousing will be more flexibly adjusted to stabilize the market prices.
2. Taiwanese Pineapples Make It Into Japan’s School Lunches: Taiwan-grown pineapples have for the first time appeared on the menu of Japanese school lunch, which was lauded by the agricultural authorities as a recognition of the quality of the fruit.
3. The Fisheries Agency Launches Seafood gift boxes and dumplings products to sell online: To promote the best quality aquatic products, the Fisheries Agency (FA) constructs the “Go Fish” website(https://www.gofish.com.tw/, and launches a variety of seafood gift boxes and eel fish dumplings in accordance with the demand for holiday gifts such as Mother’s Day and Dragon Boat Festival.
