1. Nauru seeking to build stronger ties in agriculture
Nauru looks forward to cooperating with Taiwan on economic development, as it seeks to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, Nauruan President Russ Kun said in a meeting with President Tsai in Taipei on November 15th. Taiwan would continue to improve bilateral exchanges with Nauru through agricultural, educational and cultural cooperation, Tsai said.
2. Fisheries Agency support distant-water fleet set up CCTV
To help operators of fishing vessels clearly understand the working hours of crew members by using the attendance records, Fisheries Agency said that owners are supported to set up a CCTV system on the vessel to monitor the working conditions of migrant fishermen. Fisheries Agency further explained that Tuna longline fishing operators who have valid pelagic fishery license can submit subsidy application to OFDC before November 30th.
