1.Fisheries Agency celebrates Mid-Autumn Festival with foreign crews in Badouzi fishing harbor
To celebrate the coming Mid-Autumn Festival, the Fisheries Agency hosted a party in collaboration with the Keelung district fishermen's association at Badouzi Fishing Harbor on September 7th. More than 100 foreign crews went to the party, enjoying Southeast Asian cuisine, free hair-cut service and Karaoke. To enhance crews' safety awareness, the Agency didn't only teach life-saving techniques during the party, but also distribute basic medical supplies for them.
2. Taiwan to subsidize protection of Formosan black bears
The Formosan black bear will be included in a subsidy program from October for the conservation of habitats and endangered animals as part of a wildlife protection initiative. Cash incentives will be provided to those who monitor and patrol areas frequented by the Formosan black bear as well as those reporting intrusions of the animal.
